The following guide provides all the information you need to apply for acceptance into either a graduate-degree program or master's certificate program.

American Graduate University admits qualified students of any race, color, religion, sex, age national and ethnic origin to all programs and activities generally accorded or made available to the University's student body. It does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, age, marital status, or national and ethnic origin in administration of its educational policies, admission policies, and other school programs.

First Course Registration
Taking Courses Prior to Admission

Prerequisites
To be admitted into a degree program, you must hold a Bachelor's degree from an institution accredited by an institutional accrediting agency recognized by the United States Secretary of Education. Three years work experience is recommended but not required.

Applicants with previous education in a foreign country, who do not reside in the United States, the United Kingdom or Canada, must demonstrate English language proficiency. A minimum score of 500 on the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) may be required for admission (www.toefl.org).

International Students. To have your non-U.S.A. educational credentials accepted by American Graduate University, please obtain a foreign credentials evaluation from Educational Credentials Evaluators, Inc. (ECE), Post Office Box 92970, Milwaukee, WI 53202-0970, USA. Phone: 414 289-3400. FAX: 414-289-3411. Request forms and cost information are available at the ECE website: www.ece.org.

You must submit the following to the Admissions Office by mail, fax, or email:

  1. A completed application for admission. You may apply online now or download an application and mail the completed application and $50 nonrefundable application fee to American Graduate University, 733 N. Dodsworth Ave., Covina, CA 91724.

  2. An Official transcript from the college or university from which you received your diploma. To be considered official, transcripts must come directly from the institution. Upon receipt of your application the Admissions Department will send you an email message with a transcript request form. Use this form to send for your official transcript.

Application Deadline
Once we receive your application form, you have 90 days to provide all the other required documentation. If you anticipate that you will be unable to do so, then please contact the Admissions Department for an extension.

Admission Decision
Upon receipt of the Application for Admission and all necessary documentation, the Office of Admissions will send you prompt, written notification of the admission decision.

First Course Registration
A newly accepted student at AGU must enroll in their first class within 90 days of acceptance. A student is subject to dismissal from the University for Unsatisfactory Academic Progress if they do not meet this deadline. However, if a student is unable to register within that time period due to tuition assistance funding restrictions this requirement can be waived.

Taking Courses Prior to Admission
You are encouraged to register for your first course while you are completing the application process. Refer to the curriculum path suggested for your program to select the first course. If you intend to apply for advanced standing, an Admissions Counselor can recommend which course to take first.

Applicants who will use their Veterans Administration benefits may not register until they have received their formal acceptance from American Graduate University.
