EdAlert: A brief message for AGU students.

A word from AGU about...

PLAGIARISM

We live in a world of open exchange of information. Every day we are bombarded with texts, tweets, emails and various social media. Research that used to take place in libraries is now available within seconds online. This ease of information exchange presents students with the temptation to copy and paste information from the web into their assignments. It is extremely important that when you are answering application lessons, writing examination essays, and writing papers, to always give credit whenever you use another person's idea, opinion or theory. Instructors have access to various academic plagiarism checkers that enable them to sync with student assignments to detect plagiarism. If you are found to have committed plagiarism, you risk suspension or dismissal from AGU. Take that extra time and write in your own words. Don't take the chance of jeopardizing all your hard work.
