DEAC DEBUTS VIDEO ON THE IMPORTANCE OF ACCREDITATION IN DISTANCE LEARNING

The Distance Education Accrediting Commission – the accrediting organization for AGU – has released a video segment on the benefits of distance education and the importance of accreditation that recently aired on the Fox Business Network, and is also being distributed for airing on Public Television affiliates nationwide.

The video offers an overview of the benefits of distance education, how the quality and accessibility of distance education are significantly improving as both learners and educators become more adept at technology, and it features distance education students from DEAC-accredited institutions who discuss how distance education fits their educational needs while they continue to work and balance professional and family responsibilities.

"Our collaborative aim was to emphasize the importance of accreditation when considering distance education and to provide informative and reliable resources to students," said Dr. Leah Matthews, DEAC Executive Director. "Producing this video segment aligns with DEAC's commitment to serving the greater social good through setting standards for distance education that ensure excellence in teaching, learning, and student outcomes."
